- Mozia
- Visit the nature reserve of Stagnone lagoon, north of Marsala; embark on a local fishing boat and discover this ancient Phoenician site. Mozia, rich with the colors and perfumes of Mediterranean vegetation, is home to the ruins of ancient fortresses, towers and necropolises. Along the path, you'll reach Casa dei Mosaici and the Museo Whitaker, the home of precious religious statues and rare Phoenician ceramics from the island. (25 km, coast of Stagnone, Marsala).
- Segesta
- This is the most archeologically rich and expansive area in Europe. Here, in the hills facing the sea, the imposing temples of the Acropolis sit near the lovely Greek Theater, once the home to the Santuario della Gaggera and the necropolises where sarcophaguses and funeral dressings were found. The size of the temple dedicated to Zeus, one of the largest classical ancient Temples of Segresta from the 6th century A.C. and still practically intact, is impressive.
